Pegged By Grace is mostly me, Marie Grace Bolton. I have some help from my wonderful family, but I'm the gal painting each sweet little peg doll. I'm a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. Once upon a time I was an art teacher. After my son was born, I was so grateful to be able to stay home with him. As he grew up, I started to really dislike all the toys that seemed to be multiplying every night while we slept. I started to crave toys that were simple, small, and well made.

I like to say that my son was my first customer. When he was 4 he asked for a superhero "guy" to play with. The stores didn't turn up anything I wanted to buy, so I went to the internet. I found a craft tutorial online, and painted up my first few dolls. My son was instantly entranced and completely absorbed in his play. He loved his new little pocket friends, and I found a new passion.

I think peg dolls are amazing. They are low tech and have no breakable pieces. They are small, incredibly durable, and they can be anything a child wants them to be. Honestly, they can be anything you want them to be too- there is something about the simple smooth surface that fires up your imagination. Since 2012 I have painted mermaids and pirates, wizards and elves, time lords and space cowboys, princesses and superheroes, and so much more. I can't wait to see what I'll paint next!
